Five previously undocumented Bruce Springsteen compositions were filed at the United States Copyright Office on 15 Jun 2006. These include ALL GOD'S CHILDREN, FAITHLESS, GOD SENT YOU, GOIN' TO CALIFORNIA, and WHERE YOU GOIN', WHERE YOU FROM. At the time it was believed that these songs may be related to rumored solo demo sessions that took place in early to mid 2006 at Thrill Hill Recording, Springsteen's home studio in Colts Neck, NJ. All five would remain mysteries until they were eventually released on the Tracks II: The Lost Albums box set in 2025.
Tracks II: The Lost Albums is Bruce Springsteen's follow-up to his 1998 box set Tracks, released on 27 Jun 2025. The box set consists of seven "lost albums" recoded between 1983 and 2018, totaling 83 songs, of which 74 have never been officially released in any form. The seven albums are: L.A. Garage Sessions '83, Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions, Faithless, Somewhere North Of Nashville, Inyo, Twilight Hours, and Perfect World.
Tracks II: The Lost Albums, along with its companion Lost And Found: Selections From The Lost Albums, was officially announced on 03 Apr 2025 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (1:00 p.m. GMT). The announcement was accompanied by a "trailer" for the upcoming set, posted on Bruce Springsteen's YouTube channel and other online services. The previous day, Springsteen released a teaser on his social media accounts, linking to a new website, lostalbums.net, created for the two upcoming releases.
The box set is available in limited edition as a seven-disc CD set and a nine-disc LP set, as well as digital download and streaming. The physical releases will include original packaging for each of the previously unreleased records, with a 100-page cloth-bound, hardcover book featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album from essayist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction on the project from Springsteen himself.

Faithless is a soundtrack album for a movie that was never made. The 11-track album was eventually released in 2025 as one of the of the seven "lost albums" included on the Tracks II: The Lost Albums box set.
According to a press release, Faithless is "a meditation on purpose, belief and acceptance — intended to accompany a film described as a 'spiritual Western'." The album "explores Springsteen's unique vision of spirituality in the mythic American West, while working inside of this uncharted artistic medium."
Springsteen recorded much of Faithless between the conclusion of the Devils & Dust Tour in November 2005 and the release of We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions in April 2006. All of the album was "composed before a single frame of the film was shot — over a prolific two weeks in Florida," according to the press release. "This was a really unusual collection of songs," Springsteen recalled. "You could recognize details and maybe a character or two. But for the most part, I just wrote atmospheric music that I thought would fit."
In an online statement that accompanied the release of the FAITHLESS single, Springsteen wrote in a statement:
"Faithless was a piece of work I took (on commission) for a spiritual Western film that was preparing to be made around 2004. In Hollywood, I have found, you can disappear into 'development' for long periods of time so I thought I would release these now and let you hear my results of this interesting project."
