A MESSAGE TO COLLECTORS

I have set up a private discussion forum for serious Bruce Springsteen record and CD collectors. The goal of this forum is not to replace the Greasy Lake collectors subforum or the Facebook collectors group, but an alternative to these back-and-forth emails I have been exchanging with some collectors concerning in-depth discussion about certain Springsteen collectibles.

If you are interested, register on the forum and separately send me an email telling me who you are and what is your username so that I can approve your registration. I cannot explain everything here in this short message, so please let me know by email if you have any questions or comments.

Backstreets Issue #85
Label (Cat #): – (–)
Country: USA
Release date (Original year): Spring/Summer 2006 (2006)
Bruce Springsteen fanzine, 92 pages.

Notes from Backstreets.com:

Spring/Summer 2006. "When the New World is Revealed." Nearly 40 pages of Seeger Sessions coverage! Bryan Garman, author of A Race of Singers: Whitman's Working-Class Hero from Guthrie to Springsteen, contributes an extensive review of the album; Jimmy Guterman, author of Runaway American Dream, chats with the original catalyst for the Seeeger Sessions project, Appleseed Recordings' Jim Musselman; and Dave Marsh talks with Springsteen himself, a 12-page "Kick Out the Jams" interview about the record and how it came together. As for hitting the road, our Seeger Sessions tour coverage this time around includes in-depth reports from the rehearsals in Asbury Park and the band's landmark debut in New Orleans, with stunning, exclusive Jazz Fest photography by Danny Clinch.

And that's not even half the issue. We also take a closer look at the Hammersmith '75CD and DVD, including an interview with concert film editor Thom Zimny. And don't think we forgot to wrap up our Devils & Dust tour coverage, with a show-by-show report from the final leg that finishes what we started in Backstreets #83/84. Plus: Phil Kuntz on The Nebraska Project, walking the streets of New York with Willie Nile, the fifth (and final?) RCDS benefit, reviews of the latest CD-Rs and Bruce boots, and more. 92 pages, full-color, our biggest single issue to date.
