Springsteen's Version

Although never performed it in full, an instrumental snippet of HAIL TO THE CHIEF was played during the band introductions in ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) a number of times during The River Tour in 1980 and once as an intro to ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) in 2009 — see Springsteen's live 01 Nov 1980 version and live 18 May 2009 version of ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT). Additionally, an instrumental HAIL TO THE CHIEF was sound-checked prior to the 03 Sep 1999 show in Washington, DC, during The Reunion Tour, but it was not played on the regular show.
