Well now, this is a song about ancient history (cheers). But I'm not talking about the Mesopotamians, I'm not talking about the Trojans, I'm not talking about the Italians, I'm talking about personal stuff, things from my ??? past (cheers). That kind of stuff that when I die, you're gonna read about it in the National Enquirer (cheers). Or if my girlfriend gets mad at me, you're gonna read about it while I'm still alive (cheers). In one of them tell-all books, you know, when, when they ??? all the time, all about the unusual sexual habits and all that kind of stuff (cheers). Can't keep that thing a secret anymore. But anyway, this goes back when I was a child, I was only interested in three things. The one my father was a real good pool player. He beat me all the time, so I wanted to learn how to play pool really good. And the other one was the guitar (cheers). And then the third one was... you know that one, that one (cheers). Anyway, I remember one Christmas time, my mother took me to Sears, it was in New Brownswood, New Jersey, and, she got me this pooltable for 69.95, and we like tied it to the roof of the car. I remember sitting holding on to it driving home in the snow. We got to my house and my father made me put it upstairs, so we locked it up the stairs, and it just kinda fit in mybedroom. So like I used to bring my girlfriends over, and I would say "Dad, we're gonna go up in my room and play pool for a little while" (cheers). So like, you know I go up there, but like, but like he was always kinda slick because if he didn't hear the pool balls knocking around, if he didn't hear the guitar torming, he had this broomstick that he used to bang on the ceiling, to interrupt my concentration (chuckles).But like, but like I, I kinda tricked him because I used to pull the pooltable like real over close to the bed, and then every once in a while I lean up and knock the pool balls around a little bit (cheers). That worked pretty good. But uh, anyway, I matured, I grew up (chuckles), and I, I put away childish things, and stopped playing pool... And of the other two, the only one that I really became good at was the guitar (cheers). See that's why my shows are so long, cause the other thing happens so fast (chuckles). But that's alright (chuckles), because my new year's resolution is I'm gonna get it right, so I'm still looking for some volunteers who wanna practice, practice, practice (cheers). Anyway, we'll get it down this year, '85 (chuckles). In the end all things must pass, and you're left with nothing but glory days (cheers). Come on boys!
