The above lyrics are for an acoustic home demo take of BELLS OF SAN SALVADOR that was recorded, according to Brucebase, at Thrill Hill Recording (Springsteen's home studio) in Colts Neck, NJ, sometime between mid-September 1981 and May 1982. See the home demo version 1 for more details. This version is an incomplete practice take with mostly bluffed or unintelligible lyrics. It's merely a harmonies take.
This version of BELLS OF SAN SALVADOR can be found on The Lost Masters Vol. 10 (Labour Of Love) [track 23] bootleg. It's incorrectly listed under the title "They killed Him In The Street".
