The first two issues of the Japanese "Born In The U.S.A." CD album are:
- Issue #1: catalogue number 35DP 164, released on 21 Jul 1984
- Issue #2: catalogue number 25DP 5247, released on 21 Sep 1988
Japanese releases have the price printed on the artwork and/or obi. In January 1989 VAT was introduced in Japan, and since then it became legally required that two prices be printed on the obi: the net price excluding VAT and the total price including a fixed 5% VAT. Therefore there are two versions of issue #2 of "Born In The U.S.A.": the one from before January 1989 has only one price on the obi and the one from after January 1989 has two prices on the obi.
