This was recorded about 20 feet behind the source recently posted on DaD; the sound is a little more distant than the Tinley Park torrent I posted. Whether this is "better" than the AKG source is a matter of opinion; the other version has a richer sound with more high end, but because the taper was standing in the midst of a crowd it also has more audience clapping, talking, etc. than this one does. I was virtually by myself next to the left-hand camera in line with the PA; there is very little crowd interference near me as a result. However, because I was further back it also sounds a little more distant; on a casual comparison the other suorce has better highs and lows than mine does, and mine's a little more boomy but I also think the low end and maybe midrange sound a little better. Whichever source you prefer is dependent on your personal tastes, as well as how distracted you are by clapping near the taper. Mp3s are attached so you can make the call. Probably the best alternative would be a matrix that emphasizes the best of highs and some mid-range from the other source and the lows and middle from mine; that's way beyond my skills, though, so if any enterprising DaD member wants to try it, good luck. Even without a matrix, this source stands up well on its own. The level fluctuations on track one shouldn't be apparent unless you're listening through headphones; you *will* notice, however, how bad the sound was for the first song (which will be evident on the other source as well). Luckily, the soundman fixed the problem quickly.
