THE E STREET SHUFFLE
Live 02 Mar 2012 version
[Jimmy Fallon (spoken intro):] Ok you guys, here to turn the clock back with his
last performance, with a little help from The Roots, for "E Street Shuffle". Bruce Springsteen and
the E Street Band, with Tom Morello! Whoa!
The sparks fly on E Street when the boy prophets walk it handsome and hot
The little girls' souls grow weak when the man-child gives them a double shot
The schoolboy pops pull out all the stops on a Friday night
Teenage tramps in skin-tight pants do the E Street dance, it's all right
They're either out there dancing, hooked up in a scuffle
Dressed in snake-skin suits packed with Detroit muscle
Doing the E Street Shuffle
Here we go!
Yeah-yeah yeah-yeah-yeah
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-whoa
Everybody form a line
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-yeah
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-whoa
Everybody form a line
Whoa!
Come on Roots, one, two, three!
The sparks light on E Street when the boy-prophets walk it handsome and hot
The little girls' souls grow weak when the man-child gives them a double shot
Little Angel hangs out at Easy Joe's, it's a club where all the riot squad goes when they're cashing in for a hustle
Boys on the corner loose lazy and doing that crazy E Street Shuffle
Them sweet summer nights turn into summer dreams
Little Angel picks up Power and he slips on his jeans
And they move on out down to the scene
Everybody's dancing
Here we go!
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-yeah
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-whoa
Everybody form a line
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-yeah
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-whoa
Everybody form a line
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-yeah
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-whoa
Everybody form a line
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-yeah
Whoa-whoa whoa-whoa-whoa
Yeah, everybody form a line
Steven Van Zandt! Steve!
