SWEET SOUL MUSIC

Do you like good music?
Sweet soul music?
Long as it's swinging
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

Spotlight on Otis Redding
Sing and laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh
Sing and laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

Spotlight on the Big Man
Don't he look great?
He lost a lot of weight
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

Spotlight on you now
You sure look good now
Rockin' and Rollin'
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

Spotlight on me now
I'm movin' down the line
Feeling so fine now
That's right

Spotlight on the band now
They sure look good
Doin' a good job too
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

Written by Otis Reding and Arthur Conley and originally performed by Otis Reding. The song was premiered during The River tour on 19 Apr 1981 at Palais Des Sport, Paris, France. Also performed as a part of the DETROIT MEDLEY, on 15 Aug 1982 at the Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ, with Cats, and at least 3 times during the Born In The USA tour.

During the Tunnel Of Love tour, the song was performed at least 12 times (from the beginning of the tour until 22 Apr 1988) as a part of the DETROIT MEDLEY, and at least 40 times (from 23 Apr 1988 till the end of the tour) as a stand alone, most of the times after TENTH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT and followed by RAISE YOUR HAND.

Performed twice on 25 Apr 2004 at the Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ, during a private fundraiser for the Rumson Country Day School.
