STOCKTON BOYS
Version 1
You can see it in their eyes, you can see it on their shirts
Come down here looking to get hurt
???
???
And from the streets, from every passing car
From some dark corner of ??? bar
But in the end ???
???
Oh Stockton boys
Acting tough, making noise
They say they're coming down here to collect
The Stockton boys, acting tough making noise
Man they just want to get wrecked
They wear it in their eyes, they wear it on their shirts
They come down here looking to get hurt
Trying to collect from every ???
???
From the dark corner of Johnnie's bar
From the open window of some passing car
From some ???
I watch from the town
Oh Stockton boys
Acting tough, making noise
They say they're coming down here to collect
The Stockton boys, acting tough making noise
Man they just looking to get wrecked
Oh yeah, they're too young to figure it all out
Or just too dumb to pack it up and get out
???
With a wife and a kid
???
Stuck with a girl that they don't want
Making payments baby they can't own
Oh Stockton boys
Acting tough, making noise
Coming down here looking to collect
Oh Stockton boys, acting tough making noise
Man you get in the way you gonna get wrecked
By Stockton Boys
Quite similar to it's companion piece, STOCKTON GIRLS. In some ways it
is also comparable to Working On The Highway, boys finishing a
tough day or week at work and looking for love, or something more physical. A short acoustic demo like many
others that preceded the bands work on the album.
1979-1980 Home demo. Some resemblances with YOU GOTTA BE KIND. Along
with version 2, version 3, and
version 4, was recorded in Jan 1980 in Holmdel, NJ.
