SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN

You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry
You'd better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list, he's checkin' it twice
He's gonna find out whose naughty or nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows if you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
(so you'd) better be good for goodness sake
Better be good for goodness sake

You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry
You'd better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows if you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
(so you'd) better be good for goodness sake
Better be good for goodness sake

You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry
You'd better not pout, I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

Written by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie, Springsteen has been playing SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN since 1975 in various tours around Christmas time. The more misplaced performances: 18 Sep 1984 in Philadelphia and 28 Mar 1985 in Sidney.

In festive style, Bruce Springsteen's perennial SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN made the UK Top 10 in Dec 1985.

The most famous performance was recorded live on 12 Dec 1975 at C. W. Post College, Greenvale, NY. This version was released as a b-side to MY HOMETOWN in 1985.
