OOBY DOOBY
Roy Orbison's original version
Hey baby, jump over here
When you do the ooby-dooby I just gotta be near
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah
Well you wiggle to the left, you wiggle to the right
You do the ooby-dooby with all of your might
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah
Well you wriggle and you shake, like a bit rattle snake
You do the ooby dooby 'till you think her heart'll break
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah
Well you've been struttin' 'cause now you know
How to do the ooby dooby, baby let's go!
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby
Ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, ooby-dooby, dooby-do-wah-do-wah-do-wah

Written by Wade Moore and Dick Penner, OOBY DOOBY was originally released by Roy Orbison in
March 1956 as the b-side for TRYING TO GET TO YOU (Je-Wel 101). That was Orbison's first single.
In May 1956, OOBY DOOBY was also released a single of it's own (Sun 242) with
GO, GO, GO (DOWN THE LINE) as b-side. This single peaked at
#59 on The Billboard Hot 100 and was Orbison's first commercial success. The song can now be found
on The Essential Roy Orbison, released on Sony Music in 2006.
