Warren passed away a few days ago, but he was one of the great, great American songwriters, and, uh, I love him, I'm gonna miss him very much. This is one of, uh, Warren's songs, called My Ride Is Here.

Bruce Springsteen's live 10 Sep 2003 performance of MY RIDE'S HERE was included on Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs Of Warren Zevon, a various artists Warren Zevon tribute album released in October 2004 on Artemis Records.

The album's title comes from an interview Zevon did on The Late Show with David Letterman following Zevon's having been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Letterman asked Zevon if there was anything he understood now, facing his own mortality, that he didn't before. Zevon replied, "Just how much you're supposed to enjoy every sandwich."

Bruce Springsteen's live 10 Sep 2003 performance of MY RIDE'S HERE was also included on two various artists promotional samplers for the Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs Of Warren Zevon tribute album.
