MICKEY'S MONKEY
Original The Miracles version
All right, is everybody ready? (Yeah! Smokey!)
All right now, here we go!
A-one, a-two, a-one, two, three!
Lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Oh
All right
Yeah
Well, this cat named Mickey came from out of town, yeah
He been spreading this new dance all around, now
In just a matter of a few days, yeah
This dance became the new teen dance craze
When the people see him dancing, they begin to see (lum dee lum dee li)
They see this cat do that Monkey thing (lum dee lum dee li)
It's really something to see (lum dee lum dee li)
This cat named Mickey doing that Monkey (lum dee lum dee li)
Come on, let's do Mickey's Monkey, children (let's do Mickey's Monkey, children)
Yeah, let's do Mickey's Monkey, children (let's do Mickey's Monkey, children)
Lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Oh, lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Oh, monkey see, monkey do (lum dee lum dee li)
Come on, you can do the Monkey too (lum dee lum dee li)
Come on, they're doing Mickey's Monkey, children (doing Mickey's Monkey, children)
Yeah, they're doing Mickey's Monkey, children (doing Mickey's Monkey, children)
Do the Monkey (do the Monkey)
Mickey's Monkey (Mickey's Monkey)
Whoa, a-do the Monkey (a-do the Monkey)
Mickey's Monkey (Mickey's Monkey)
Mickey's Monkey (Mickey's Monkey)
Mickey's Monkey (Mickey's Monkey)
One more time, lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)
Lum dee lum dee li (lum dee lum dee li)

Springsteen's Version
Although he has never performed it live in full, Bruce Springsteen has
occasionally used a snippet of MICKEY'S MONKEY's chorus while introducing the band in the middle
of ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT) during the Darkness On The Edge
Of Town Tour in 1978. See the
live 03 Jun 1978 version of ROSALITA (COME OUT TONIGHT)
for an example.
