London publishing demo 1972. Recorded in Jun-Jul 1972 at the Media and 914 Sound Studios, Blauvelt, New York City. Later appeared on the semi-legal CD Before The Fame.

Very similar in structure and lyrically constructed like MARY QUEEN OF ARKANSAS. Not a reason to be avoided however, this early demo documents the struggle between desire and imprisonment, two feelings that love can simultaneously produce. Although Marie produces so much pain, she remains "the only lonely cowgirl on my range", yet another Wild West reference.
