[instrumental and guitar fade to end]
A classic blues song by Muddy Waters. The song was a rearrangement of the classic Bo Diddley hit
I'M A MAN. It was originally recorded and released as singles in
1955, and then included on The Best Of Muddy Waters that year. The was later re-recorded in
in 1977 in a memorable hit version that was produced by Johnny Winter and released on Muddy Waters'
Hard Again album and in 1988 featured in a jeans TV commercial. Jimi Hendrix covered this
song on his introspective album Blues.
Bruce Springsteen performed ADAM RAISED A CAIN during
every show on the Tunnel Of Love tour. Starting on the 19 Jun 1988 show at Hippodrome De
Vincennes, Paris, France, lyrics from MANNISH BOY were added to the end of
ADAM RAISED A CAIN.
The above lyrics refer to Muddy Waters' original version.
