Sound-checked during the Darkness On The Edge Of Town tour, on 20 and 21 Sep 1978, at the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, NJ, but not played during the shows.

During The Rising tour, Bruce Springsteen opened the 13 Sep 2003 show at FedEx Field, Washington, DC, with I WALK THE LINE as a tribute to Johnny Cash who passed away the previous day. The song also also opened the next show on 14 Sep 2003 at Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC.
