DARKNESS DARKNESS is a song written by written by Jesse Colin Young of The Youngbloods in 1969. The Youngbloods recorded and released the song in April 1969 on their album Elephant Mountain (RCA Victor, catalogue number LSP-415). The song was also released as a that same year, with ON SIR FRANCES DRAKE on the B-side (RCA Victor, catalogue number 74-0342).
