C'MON BILLY BREAK UP THE WINE

a.k.a. NOTHING CAN STOP ME NOW

Alternative version

C'mon Billy won't you take out you car
I wanna see you cut that mark
This is what we have all been waiting for
Got to have us some serious celebrating
Cause there ain't been nothing in this one horse town
Not in a long time sugar

Ain't nothing can stop me now
Got to get to New York
No, no, nothing can stop the boy now
No, not even his mama

Play that guitar, you better cut loose
Think he's gonna merit a star
I'm don't wanna leave that women so blue
You know I've never held back girl before, no
A man's gotta seek his fortune, ah, ah, ah
I tell you when I get back
This whole town's gonna know my name

No nothing can stop me now
No nothing can stop the boy now
No, not even my mama
No, nothing can stop him now
No, no, nothing at all

C'mon Louie won't you break out some more
I wanna see you rock and roll
Seems to me what we have all been waiting for
I wanna get to do some serious celebratin'
Hey Mr. good time driver
It's good to see you right on time
And all I wanna know is how far do we go
If you need a ride

Oh no, no, nothing can stop me
Nothing can stop him now
Not even my mama
Not even the Middletown police
No, nothing can stop me now
No, nothing can stop me now
No one can stop me now

Bruce Springsteen Band / Dr Zoom and the Sonic Boom. This is an alternative version of C'MON BILLY BREAK UP THE WINE performed on 23 Jul 1971.

This was a Bruce Springsteen Band original. Probably best left in the archives, as the lyrics are a little cringe worthy, although the sentiments are admirable and similar to later songs, the desire to escape and move on to something better. A big band number with plenty of horns and a refrain from the lady back-up singers who were stars in their own right as members of this band.
