634-5789
Bruce's version
If you need a little lovin'
Call on me, o yeah
If you want some kissin'
Call me baby, all you gotta do
O I'll be right here at home
All you gotta do is pick up your telephone
And dial now
634-5789 That's my number
634-5789
And if you need a little huggin'
Call on me, lord have mercy
And if you want some kissing
Call on me baby, all you gotta do now
No more lonely nights, will you be alone
All you got to do is pick up your phone
And dial babe
634-5789 That's my number
634-5789
O I'll be right there
Just as soon as I can
And if I'd be a little late now
I hope that you'll understand
Oh yeah
634-5789
634-5789
634-5789 Oh yeah
634-5789
And if you need a little lovin'
You can count on me, o yeah
And if you want some of that kissin'
Call on me, you better believe you can
No more lonely nights, will you be alone
All you gotta do is call me on the telephone
And dial
634-5789 That's my number baby
634-5789
634-5789 That's our number
634-5789 That's our number
634-5789 That's our number baby
634-5789

From
Backstreets Magazine
#82, about the Fourth Annual RCDS Benefit:
[...] After "Wipeout" and "The Wandered," Bruce took the stage for another classic, Wilson
Pickett's "634-5789." Several fans in the cloud pulled out their cell phones and dialed up a family
number or friend so that they could hear Bruce singing the song. Whether it was the nature of the
song or the nature of the night, Bruce didn't mind cell phones in this case: he began grabbing them
at random and talking to the surprised people on the other hand. Imaging sitting at home, your cell
phone rings, you answer and Bruce Springsteen is on the other end, singing and saying hello! [...]
