Warren passed away a few days ago, but he was one of the great, great American songwriters, and, uh, I love him, I'm gonna miss him very much. The above lyrics are for Bruce Springsteen's live 10 Sep 2003 performance of Warren Zevon's MY RIDE'S HERE at SkyDome in Toronto, Canada, during The Rising Tour. The song opened the show in the memory of Warren Zevon who passed away three days earlier. That was the only time Bruce Springsteen performed MY RIDE'S HERE live.

The album's title comes from an interview Zevon did on The Late Show with David Letterman following Zevon's having been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
