The above lyrics are for a brief solo acoustic guitar demo of DRIVE ALL NIGHT recorded in January 1980 at Bruce Springsteen's home in Holmdel, NJ. According to The Lost Masters Vol. 7 bootleg liner notes, the exact recording date is 11 Jan 1980. On this take, Springsteen sings harmonies over what sounds like a pre-recorded version (the parts between parentheses) from the rehearsals sessions with the E Street Band at Springsteen's Telegraph Hill Road property in Holmdel, NJ.
