"My Hometown" Bruce Springsteen Live At The Meadowlands 1984-08-11 complete show (w/special guest John Entwhistle) from 2nd gen AUD mp3 sample

This massive event was part of a multi-night tribute to the place where Bruce spent his childhood. It was taped during the "Born In The USA" tour by my supposedly-deceased buddy Jarod Jacobs with a cheap hand-held cassette recorder with a built-in mike. He had very good seats toward the front of the arena, and ended up standing for the entire 200 minutes of this show. A 1:1 copy was made at real-time with two high-quality cassette decks. This copy was used to make this torrent. His original tapes were on name-brand chrome cassettes. My copy was on UDXLII90's. No form of processing was used to make this torrent.

Jarod had mentioned to me that he was dying (we were both in our late twenties), but refused to say why. At any rate, we lost contact in the late 1980's, and his business closed up shortly thereafter. A search for him in the early 1990's turned up nothing.

This show is for him.

Some notes about the performance: Even if you don't like Bruce Springsteen, you will probably like this show. It ranges from introspective ballads to flat-out rock and roll, and includes a medley of Motown hits. An mp3 sample is included.

Bruce is in his home environment, and the vibes are so strong that it still penetrates you after 22 years!
