So the story goes, Tape Man Joe attended many concerts. Joe used a Sony D6 with either a Sony 929 or 939 microphone (memories have faded on which exact mic) and TDK metal tapes. Joe made a few copies and gave them to friends but never actively traded his recordings. Recently Joe lent a few of his masters to his friend, Jungleland user G (a generous collector himself who has lent tapes from his collection to help upgrade many shows). G asked me to finish off the transfers and post them. There has only been one recorder to circulate for this show up until now. Joe’s master sounds like a clear upgrade to my ears. It sounds as if he was pretty damn close. There are couple of small issues. There is a screamer right next to Joe. He’s usually only excited at the beginning or the end of a song. Second, Bruce’s voice is a little harsh on the tracks were he sings loudly. The shaped the recording the best I can. Overall it’s another winner from Joe’s collection. The show itself features "A Woman's Got The Power" sung by Red Bank Rocker J.T. Bowen. Bruce explains that his mother complained that he only sings about his father. Thanks to Tape Man Joe for recording and sharing his tapes and G for transferring the files. 01.BORN IN THE U.S.A. 02.OUT IN THE STREET 03.TENTH AVENUE FREEZE-OUT 04.ATLANTIC CITY 05.JOHNNY 99 06.HIGHWAY PATROLMAN 07.PROVE IT ALL NIGHT 08.GLORY DAYS 09.THE PROMISED LAND 10.USED CARS 11.THE RIVER 12.BADLANDS 13.THUNDER ROAD 14.CADILLAC RANCH 15.HUNGRY HEART 16.DANCING IN THE DARK 17.SHERRY DARLING 18.A WOMAN'S GOT THE POWER (with J.T. Bowen (from Clarence's Red Bank Rockers) guesting on a one-off version of "A Woman's Got The Power" (not to be played again until 2011), played after complaints from Bruce's mother that Bruce always sings about his father and not his mother. Bruce's parents are in the audience. "Growin' Up" includes the bear story. "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" includes Roy playing a snippet of "Hail To The Chief" during the band introductions.
