This release features a second recording source for the outstanding December 11, 1980 Providence, Rhode Island show. The Providence show has circulated for sometime as the excellent "Passing Through Providence". Although this Recorder 2 source is an excellent capture it is not meant to materially upgrade "Passing Through Providence". What it does do is give us a little extra of the show not found on the Recorder 1 source, it's also a fine capture on it's own but a notch below "Passing Through Providence". "Prove It All Night" and "Backstreets" are both cut at the end on the Recorder 1 source. We get an 30 additional seconds of "Prove It All Night" and a complete "Backstreets" on this second source. Three songs have been patched to make this show 100% complete. What can you say about the end of the 1st leg of the original "River Tour". Given an opportunity to go back in time and re-live an era of Bruce's career, the December 1980 shows would have to be a top contender. The last month of 1980 featured some of the longest shows up to that point, if the middle section of "Candy's Room", "Because The Night", "Sandy", "For You" didn't wipe you out it's followed by the emotional powerhouses of "Stolen Car", "Wreck On The Highway" and "Point Blank". Throw in the tour debut and rarely played on this tour "Rendezvous" and this wraps up to be one of the finest shows of the tour. Thanks to the usual suspects, you know them well by now...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo and Butterking, none of this could happen without each and every one of these folks. The biggest thanks go to Dan for making his archives available for us all to enjoy... mjk5510 Previous DS Archives Releases: Volume 01: Bruce Springsteen 1980-10-11 Chicago, IL (1st Gen) Volume 02: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-21 Minneapolis, MN (2nd Gen) Volume 03: Bruce Springsteen 1975-08-01 Richmond, VA (Low Gen) Volume 04: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Low Gen) Volume 05: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Recorder 2) Volume 06: Bruce Springsteen 1975-11-01 Santa Barbara, CA (2nd Gen) Volume 07: Bruce Springsteen 1975-10-04 Detroit, MI (1st Gen Aud Un-circulated) Volume 08: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-05 Washington DC (Low Gen, presumed 2nd) Volume 09: Bruce Springsteen 1975-07-25 Kutztown, PA (Low Gen) Volume 10: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-24 Albany, NY (Recorder 2) Volume 11: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-21 Toronto, ON (Low Gen) Volume 12: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-29 Santa Monica, CA (Low Gen) Volume 13: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-30 Santa Monica, CA (Low Gen) Volume 14: Bruce Springsteen 1976-10-25 Philadelphia (Recorder 2) Volume 15: Bruce Springsteen 1977-03-13 Towson, MD (Recorder 3) Volume 16: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-27 Philadelphia (Recorder 2) Volume 17: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-03 Uniondale, NY (Recorder 4) Volume 18: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-23 Buffalo, NY (Low Gen Recorder 1) Volume 19: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-08 Madison, WI (Recorder 2) Volume 20: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-30 Berkeley, CA (Low Gen) Volume 21: Bruce Springsteen 1978-09-17 New York City, NY (Complete Audience) Volume 22: Bruce Springsteen 1978-07-29 St. Petersburg, FL (Recorder 2) Volume 23: Bruce Springsteen 1978-07-05 Los Angeles, CA (Recorder 3) Volume 24: Bruce Springsteen 1978-08-14 Hampton, VA (Recorder 2) Volume 25: Bruce Springsteen 1978-09-03 Saginaw, MI (Recorder 2) Volume 26: Bruce Springsteen 1978-12-13 Tucson, AZ (Low Gen Upgrade) Volume 27: Bruce Springsteen 1978-09-16 NYC, NY (Recorder 2)
