Bruce Springsteen 1980-10-25 MEMORIAL COLISEUM, PORTLAND, OREGON New source - significant upgrade Ah, the first Springsteen show I ever saw (you never forget your first…) and the only one to have “On Top of Old Smoky” (in honor of Mt St Helens eruptions). This show has been around for years as “The Mountain”, which seemed to have been made from a 4th or 5th generation tape. But a friend who had the master tape was so very kind to master new CDs. I’ve always rated the Mountain CDs as E-, but this I’d give an “E”. Interested in sound quality? I’ll post a snippet. Sorry, no artwork since this is a brand new CD. Song split btwn CDs isn’t the same as “The Mountain” so that artwork won’t work. If anyone could create, we’d all be forever thankful, singing your praises until the end of time. Or next week, whichever comes first. Flac fingerprints in separate file. Lineage: tape > CD > you OK, so I have no idea what kind of tape deck, mics or anything else and frankly, who cares. Listen to the mp3 sample and if you like it, download it. If you don’t like it, download it anyway, and then post complaints about it. No seriously, this sounds pretty good and is a significant upgrade for this show. Notes on the show from Brucebase: Audience tape - good atmosphere. Only performance of On Top Of Old Smokie, and I'm A Rocker is rare. Unusual start of show with Prove It All Night, and Badlands has a new keyboard introduction for the first time. Disc 1 1.
