As stated previously the goal has been to get all sources into wider circulation regardless of quality and Dan’s tapes have produced some nice alternate source s and upgrades in previous volumes. This volume gives us another uncirculated second source to the June 8th Madison, Wisconsin show. The more common recorder 1 source was recently upgraded through a JEMS release out of the CB archives. This second source is solid capture but is unfortunately incomplete, cutting off during ‘She’s The One’. There were two more songs, Growin’ Up and Backstreets’, available on the tape but something happens between the cut and start of Growin’ Up that renders the last two songs buried in hiss and a pitch mess, anyone that has been following this series knows we’ll go the extra mile to fix tapes that are a mess (see Volume 6 Santa Barbara 1975-11-01) but this is beyond the time it would take to even marginally improve it, with another very good complete source in circulation we decided against wasting the time (there are , after all, other shows to get to). This source sounds to be recorded fairly close to the stage and has some audience noise between and at the start of a few songs. Most disruptions are quick and not overly intrusive to the show as a whole. The six missing songs have been added from Recorder 1 to make this version of the show complete. Thanks to the usual suspects that put me in touch with Dan, their assistance and passion for Bruce and getting this music in your hands continues to be invaluable...IvannF, EarlMv, Oats1jvo and my compadre Butterking from JEMS for the use of the NAK DR-01. The biggest thanks go to Dan for making his archives available for us all to enjoy... mjk5510 Previous DS Archives Releases: Volume 01: Bruce Springsteen 1980-10-11 Chicago, IL (1st Gen) Volume 02: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-21 Minneapolis, MN (2nd Gen) Volume 03: Bruce Springsteen 1975-08-01 Richmond, VA (Low Gen) Volume 04: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Low Gen) Volume 05: Bruce Springsteen 1975-09-16 Dallas, TX (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 06: Bruce Springsteen 1975-11-01 Santa Barbara, CA (2nd Gen) Volume 07: Bruce Springsteen 1975-10-04 Detroit, MI (1st Gen Aud Un-circulated) Volume 08: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-05 Washington DC (Low Gen, presumed 2nd) Volume 09: Bruce Springsteen 1975-07-25 Kutztown, PA (Low Gen) Volume 10: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-24 Albany, NY (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 11: Bruce Springsteen 1975-12-21 Toronto, ON (Low Gen) Volume 12: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-29 Santa Monica, CA (Low Gen) Volume 13: Bruce Springsteen 1976-09-30 Santa Monica, CA (Low Gen) Volume 14: Bruce Springsteen 1976-10-25 Philadelphia (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 15: Bruce Springsteen 1977-03-13 Towson, MD (Recorder 3 Un-circulated) Volume 16: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-27 Philadelphia (Recorder 2 Un-circulated) Volume 17: Bruce Springsteen 1978-06-03 Uniondale, NY (Recorder 4 Un-circulated) Volume 18: Bruce Springsteen 1978-05-23 Buffalo, NY (Low Gen Recorder 1)
