"The Wild, The Innocent, And The Circus Story" The Wild, The Innocent, And The E Street Shuffle Outtakes Remastered 1973 A chrs1961815 remaster Source: Maxell XLII 90 Cassette + "Born In The Studio" (CD) + CDR This is a remaster I recently did like the CBS 'audition' remaster I posted not too long ago. For this remaster, I did very little work on the editing portion. Recently I discovered a cassette with various early Bruce outtakes on it, nothing new unfortunately. I did transfer it and it sounded perhaps a little better than the circulating sources depending on who you ask. I listened to the circulating audio of the songs and I noticed there was a little hiss on some of the tracks. The cassette tape was very clean, almost inaudible hiss. The tracks that were from the WIESS sessions I took and edited ver lightly, with some normalization and eq+ing. The ones that were found on CD and CDR had that annoying hiss, so that took a little more work, but again, some light normalization and eq+ing. Some of the tracks are harder to find than others, and I'm happy to provide them to you in one place. Side note; there is artwork included in this torrent. You might notice in the booklet how all of these recording dates are actuak dates and not ranges, like some say on Brucebase. Well, this cassette I got from my buddy WB years ago. He was from North Carolina and saw Bruce up and down the East Coast in the 70's and 80's, eventually moving to Wisconsin but still attending Bruce shows around the Midwest. Anyways, along the way as you might expect he met people, including an assistant at 914 Sound Studios where Bruce recorded his first three albums. Somehow, he got a copy of the studio logs while working there, and stashed the copy away. A few years later, WB meets him and somehow that topic got brought up and WB was able to see the copies. He wrote down the run times, special information about the track, among others. He never saw the mysterious assistant again, but the logs were definetly copies of the originals. The paper got lost for many years, until seeing the light of day I think a few years ago. WB contacted me because he knows I have every circulating outtake that there is and a lot info on them and Bruce. I got a copy of the paper and after some mind-breaking work, I figured out the recording dates of the songs, along with some help from the Tracks booklet which houses the same versions of a few of the songs but with extra elements among other things. If you are wondering what other songs in the logs there were that aren't here, you are out of luck. The mysterious assistant as I call him didn't have the complete logs from the sessions. Oddly, he had the logs of the takes of the tracks below plus some other songs from the album, no new information. I discovered that many of the tracks were recorded on June 28, 1973. That must have been a big recording day or something because of the takes here and the other takes listed in the logs. Bruce did once say that during the WIESS sessions they set up a tent behind 914 Studios and slept there so they wouldn't have to make the drive. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this remaster. After a encoding error with my other software I upgraded and now all of these tracks are 24/96 bit ones in high quality! 01 The Fever 02 Phantoms 03 Santa Ana (with flute) 04 Evacuation Of The West 05 Seaside Bar Song (different vocal) 06 Zero And Blind Terry (instrumental) 07 Zero And Blind Terry 08 New York City Serenade (base track) 09 Kitty's Back (alternate guitar mix) 10 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) (instrumental) 11 4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) (alternate vocal) 12 Rosalita (Come Out Tonight) (instrumental) Artwork and checksums included.
