JANN'S SONG

Published lyrics

I got to know the man a little bit, by and by
I've never seen so much innocence and cynicism walk side by side.
I never guessed a man whose magazine once changed my life
Would one day want to have a threesome with my wife.

Champagne, pot cookies, and a Percocet
Keep him humming like a Sabre jet
Champagne, pot cookies, and a Percoset
Keep him rolling stoned…

I've been on the cover quite a few times, mon frère
But these days I'm going to need tits, a bikini, and a belly wax to get me there
The last time I figured was the very last, I supposed
But now I'm up here kissing ass, so who knows?

I told him I never did any drugs one night
He said, "Son, it's not too late to throw away your life."
Champagne, pot cookies, and a Percoset
And you'll be playing that guitar mellow
I called him a few days after the election was done
And all he said was, "Fuck, there goes our ride on Air Force One."

I'd like to say happy birthday old man, and thanks for the good years
And for the message you sent back in the day that said, "You ain't alone out there."
So if this song tonight don't have my debt covered
I know just what I am gonna send one old crazy motherfucker.
Champagne, pot cookies, and a Percoset.
A lot of years gone, a lot better coming yet.
